cv_PatriziNicoletta Patrizi was born on April 20th 1979. In 1998 she graduated at the Liceo Scientifico of Montepulciano (Siena, Italy), with marks of 50/60. From October 1998 to April 2005 she studied at the University of Siena, Faculty of Mathematical Physical and Natural Sciences. On April 2005 she receiveded her degree on Natural Sciences with marks of 110/110. Title of dissertation: “Organochlorine contaminats and Cetacean of the Mediterranean Sea: application and validation of theoretical models to evaluate potential hazard in Stenella coeruleoalba (Meyen, 1833)”. During the university period she has collaborated with the Province of Siena (Wildlife Monitoring Office). After her graduation she has collaborated with the Department of Environmental Sciences “G. Sarfatti” of the University of Siena as well as with a private organization as a naturalistic consultant. From October 2006 to October 2009 Nicoletta has been a PhD student in Chemical Sciences at the University of Siena. During her PhD program she focused her research on environmental indicators and their application to water resources. As part of her PhD program, she spent several months at Global Footprint Network where she worked with Mathis Wackernagel (the co-inventor of the Ecological Footprint) and his research team. In January 2010 she received her PhD degree from the University of Siena with a thesis entitled: “thermodynamics approach for the evaluation of the sustainability of water resources” (Tutor: Professor Enzo Tiezzi; Co-tutors: Valentina Niccolucci PhD and Federico M. Pulselli PhD). Since September 2010 she holds a postdoctoral fellowship (one year) from the “Agenzia Provinciale per l’Energia e l’Ambiente s.r.l (APEA)” and the Department of Chemistry of the Siena University (Ecodynamics group) for the development of a research project entitled: ”Biorefineries in the Siena Province” (BISP).
